"Livin' in the Lateral"
Content Accelerator Pitch

Co-Creator

I was part of a two-person creative team behind the concept, outline, and design of a pitch as part of a Nickelodeon Content Accelerator (NCA) Contest.

This pitch was for the

"Big Kids Animation" category (ages 6-11+):

From the NCA details:

"We are partnering with Rise Up Animation and Ghetto Film School to solicit pitches for this program. This program is open to emerging professionals in the field of kid-focused content creation. We want to hear from people of color, creatives with disabilities, creatives in the LGBTQ+ community, or any other voices who have historically had limited or no access to the children’s television industry."

"Livin' in the Lateral" is a love letter to friendship and childhood. The concept explores the navigation of awkward youth, subsequent trauma, and resilience.

Sight Words Songs
VIPKid

Writer || performer

I wrote, performed, and recorded original educational songs for a sight words course. This was a remediation course for struggling non-native speakers. The songs accompanied readers (also written by me) and complemented interactive, synchronous online lessons.

This is a model text for the narrative writing unit of EngageNY. It has the voice and style of a high school student, after whose writing it is modeled.

EF SET English Proficiency Test

writer and editor

I was part of a team that wrote passages and items across four skills—reading, writing, speaking, & listening—aligned to the CEFR. The EF SET test assesses English language proficiency for students 16 and older.

WHAT DOES GOOD CONTENT LOOK LIKE?

FLEXIBLE

Good content should be built to last!

Content should be adaptable enough to accommodate diverse populations while remaining relevant in an ever-changing educational landscape.

PEDAGOGICAL

Good content must be pedagogically sound!

Content must be grounded in research. Whether assessment or curriculum—or everything in between—content should be based on proven best practices.

ENGAGING

Good content should not be a snooze fest!

Content should cater to the intended audience, but it should not be afraid to push boundaries, either. Content can provoke, inspire, and entertain while still being valuable.

RELEVANT

Good content must be relevant to learners!

Content must be a reflection of the world in which the audience interacts. Content can also reflect the current and future outlook of a particular industry.
